Coalition meeting

 

The next Community Coalition meeting will be held on Monday, February 13, 2017 at Northwest EMS, 380 West Bainbridge St., Elizabethtown, from 6:30-8PM. Please join us as we bring community groups together to work on positive changes to prevent youth substance use.

We plan to celebrate and recognize goal achieving members and continue to discuss ways we all can contribute to achieving our common goal.

Please let us know if you plan to attend. An RSVP is preferred, but not required.

A five week interactive course in which parents of 4th to 8th graders focus on the transition to adolescence and the “nature and extent of adolescent drug use, and the conditions that help protect against and contribute to adolescent drug use. Parents will also learn how to hold a family meeting to plan family fun and strengthen family bonding.” (Quoted from GGC Parent Guide.)

The evening starts at 5:30 pm with a free family dinner. Afterward, daycare will be provided while parents attend the workshop. The class meets each Tuesday until the final evening, May 2nd.

Our Mission

Elizabethtown Area Communities That Care is a community-based, non-profit organization dedicated to improving the lives of children, youth and families in the Elizabethtown Pennsylvania area.

Our research-based programs and services are designed to nurture the physical and emotional well-being of youth and families. Our focus is aimed toward the prevention of drug, alcohol and substance abuse, bullying, truancy, school drop-out, violence, teen pregnancy and other high-risk behaviors in a manner that is collaborative, evidence-based, ethical, innovative and tailored to meet the community’s needs.
